The nox energy surcharge

Due to the significant increase in energy costs, which continue to be volatile, and the ongoing development towards e-mobility and alternative drives, nox levies a dynamic energy surcharge.

This surcharge serves to ensure the reliability of our services even in times of highly fluctuating energy costs and to support us in our decarbonization efforts.

Cost transparency with varying energy costs

The energy surcharge is a percentage surcharge on the freight costs and is based on a dynamic calculation that takes into account the current energy mix and reliable energy price indices. The energy sources represented are heating oil, electricity, gas and district heating. The basis for the index (base value = 100) is the median of the first eight months of 2024.

The surcharge is shown separately and is also adjusted if energy prices fall.

In this way, we want to ensure fair and transparent billing and support our shared vision of climate-friendly logistics.

The calculation is based on the indices of the Federal Statistical Office for the producer price index for commercial products in the energy sector. On this basis, the energy surcharge is set fairly and in line with the market and adjusted on a quarterly basis.

In order to continuously improve the energy mix, we adjust it annually. nox therefore reserves the right to adjust the data source, the reference value of the energy sources and the calculation basis and to redefine the amount and duration of the surcharge
