An Entrepreneur with Experience and Dedication - Mr. Schmeisser’s Journey with nox

Today, we would like to introduce a very special partner: Mr. Schmeisser from Schmeißer Klein- und Eiltransporte. We have been working closely with him for more than 33 years, and even at 70 years old – he celebrated his milestone birthday in October – he iis still out on the road with full passion, ensuring our pickups are timely and reliable. He is an impressive person and entrepreneur whose experience and dedication are invaluable to us!

1. Mr. Schmeisser, what motivated you to start working with us in 1991, and what has inspired you to continue this partnership for so many years?

Answer: Originally, I was a driver in the mining industry, but due to shifts in the sector, my position became redundant. So, I decided to switch to innight logistics. The new challenges and our successful collaboration motivated me back then and have kept me going ever since.

2. You turned 70 in October but are still happily driving your daily routes. What gives you this energy and passion for your profession?

Answer: Yes, that’s right. I enjoy staying active and keeping up with so many connections. The work keeps me fit and gives me the chance to get out. My routes bring structure to my day, yet they’re still always varied. That’s why I still enjoy doing my pickup routes and even taking on the occasional special trip.

3. How do you think the transport industry has changed over the last 33 years, and what challenges have you had to face along the way?

Answer: When I started, there was less freight, but we had to travel longer distances. Today, it’s the opposite: there’s much more freight, but the distances are shorter. The industry is fiercely competitive, and I’ve often seen clients switch providers for better terms, only to return later because quality and reliability ultimately matter more.

4. What does the long-standing partnership with us at nox mean to you, and how have your client relationships developed over the years?

Answer: The long-standing partnership with nox means a lot to me personally. Over the years, a trustful and warm relationship has evolved, going well beyond a typical business relationship. Working with the nox team is marked by mutual respect and trust, and my relationships with clients have become very personal – almost friendly. A good work atmosphere is essential, and I value the close, friendly bond we’ve built over time. It strengthens my motivation to continue this partnership.

5. Do you have plans for the future – whether professionally or personally – and what are your hopes for the coming years for both your company and yourself?

Answer: Staying healthy is the most important thing for me. Looking to the future, I hope to keep driving my pickup routes – it keeps me young and allows me to stay connected with people.
